Since I keep having to remake logos from low quality samples, and I like the way Tumblr’s photo gallery fades between them so I can compare, I’m going to “make this a thing.”
Here’s the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office’s logo, scanned from a < 1 inch blurry xeroxed/xeroxed/xeroxed/faxed copy, then the one I made. I’m not sure if there’s supposed to be a thin white band just inside the text; it’s easier to imagine it’s there looking at the original. It seemed to help make that vast black expanse less gaudy.
Credit due: the central seal, which you’ll see in the next one, is the official seal of the State of Georgia, created by a human being, downloaded from the S.o.G. web site. None of these county bodies around Athens have quality images on their sites, but at least the state does.
