brief recap [ed: briecap]
Then we had a meal at The Grill, where I’d never been. Cheeseburger + 3-Way-Splitshake + Two of my favorite friends = Bliss. God bliss them.
If you went to the Grill last night between 11pm and 4:30am I was there! If you went after midnight then I was your cashier.
Oh, boy, this is like “Missed Connections” on Craigslist, but real and not falsely-longingly-deludedly-pseudoromantic!
We left around 2-ish, so presumably you were the cashier. We were three gentlemen, enquiring as to whether a milkshake could have its price split three ways. You asked if it was a hamburger or a cheeseburger; I reluctantly explained that I had originally said hamburger, but then had to correct it to cheeseburger when I realized a “hamburger” would not have cheese on it. The waiter gave me the same look mechanics give when I ask, “Tires are made of oil; does this oil change also come with new tires?” My companions had a grilled cheese and a sunburger(?). I paid $15 cash, and you provided four bills and four coins as change. I watched them being counted out, and filed that factoid under “Meaningless Non-Pattern.”
Weird! That place was really packed. I’ve never been out in Athens at that time, and was surprised at the streets being more crowded than at any point during daylight.
